Greer is the 17th largest municipality in the state of South Carolina and is the third largest city in Greenville and Spartanburg Counties. Between 1990 and 2000 the City of Greer lead the state in rate of population growth by posting a 63 percent population increase. The population estimate for the City of Greer in 2005 was 21,421 and is projected to reach 29,581 residents by 2015.
