Climate

Greer, South Carolina enjoys a superb climate. Many different factors control the climate of the state and the community. Most important though is the state's location in the northern mid-latitudes and its proximity to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Appalachian Mountains.

Summer is the hottest period during the year with temperatures reaching highs in the mid 80’s to low 90’s. Autumn is a very beautiful time of year when the outdoors reach highs in the 70’s and 80’s. Seventy degree weather frequently lasts into November and sometimes into December. After the cold weather of January, there is usually a period of seventy degree days beginning in late February or early March. Rainfall in the Greer area averages just over 50 inches a year and snowfall, sleet and hail just over 12 inches a year.
